I bet the Dalai 's spinning in his grave. _________________ OK, I'm an old shoe

I can now confirm that Buddha in the Garden is officially classed as missing. When I say "missing", it might actually have been thrown onto a skip last year without my knowledge when I wasn't there. I only realised it was missing last week when having a post-winter/post-storm study of the garden, and upon questioning the official owner they responded with words to the effect of "I have no idea where it is; it might have gone on the skip - well, no one liked it and it was cracked". |

| Well, any bad karma from that won't be on your head, but on anyone's who did the deed. _________________ ' "Haven't got houses." Where do they live then?'

It's hardly as if Buddha in the Garden was looked after very well in the first place though, eh, eh? _________________ OK, I'm an old shoe

| I hasten to add that despite me not exactly being of the Buddhism religion I try and treat any religious symbols with relative respect, hence the reason a broken Buddha left behind by the house's previous owner that I and the house's new owner had always thought was ugly hadn't been chucked away when one's eyes were first set on it in 2011. I was the one who campaigned to save it 11 years ago. But I was also the one who moved it to the bottom of the garden and faced it away from the house. But I certainly wasn't the one who allegedly chucked it onto a skip. So I like to think any aforementioned bad karma certainly wouldn't be upon me. Still, we have a missing Buddha that should be in the Garden - and it's a problem. |

| But wasn't the original Buddha in the Garden one of those quite creepy leery grin Buddhas? Buddha in the Woods one is one of those placid, serene, female Buddhas. I seem to recall that that leery grin original Buddha in the Garden had was part of the reason it caused Butterpops some disturbance and consternation. _________________ OK, I'm an old shoe

| You're both right. Buddha in the Garden is/was black - not sure of the material but definitely chippable and hollow with a hole in its b*ttom - and is/was one of the fat, creepy ones. |

| You may have a Buddha in your garden, but do you have an effigy of a little girl hanging in it? |

| Quite right too. Nor should he. This years must have garden accessory is an effigy of a small unhappy girl who's hanged herself. He's no doubt in the process of getting one of those set up. |
