It's hot but it's raining. The worst possible combination of weather.

My freezer needs defrosting but is full of food. The worst possible combination of refrigerating circumstances.

Will this nightmare never end?

I forgot to put a question mark at the end of that sentence. The curse of Friday 13th has struck again.

Meat pies for breakfast?

I had to get up at 4am and remote in to work, and I found that there were 4 urgent issues for me to deal with, when there'd only been 2 last night.

But, I had a lovely early morning walk to work at 6.45am with the birdies tweeting, and when I arrived, one of the issues had gone away.

So I'm not sure whether that's lucky or unlucky.

I have solved one of the issues, and I'm waiting to hear about whether I'll have to work over the weekend on the other.

I thought the door banging this morning was my son leaving, but it was my mother arriving. I was getting dressed, and only wearing pants when she flung the door open and launched into a spiel about something. 

I told her to F off and she started arguing about how rude this was before I pushed her out demanding privacy and dignity.

About five minutes later the door slammed again. She's nicked three Fragonard soaps, a silver milk jug, a carton of milk, a black Daks blazer and a packet of cigarettes.

It's Friday the 13th again.

Only two months after the last one.

I'm sure I got through the first twenty years of my life without ever encountering one. Now there are about thirty of them every year.
