Bin day report Empty
PostSubject: Bin day report   Bin day report EmptyFri 3 Sep 2021 - 14:01

It's bin day here at my parents' house, and everything has been collected except for one plastic milk carton which was left on the drive.

Also all the bins and sacks have been returned without being stolen/blowing away.

A good bin day, I rate it 4/5.

Excellent bin day with everything collected by 1pm.

Pleased with myself for mastering the strange recycling rules of this town that my parents live in.

5/5

It's amazing just how different each council is when it comes to bin and recycling collecting - even neighbouring councils.

Dudley Council has a black bin for general waste, a green bin for garden waste and a black box for bottles, tins, paper etc.

Last week I drove into neighbouring Wolverhampton and noticed that households there now have I think a grey bin, a green bin, a brown bin and a purple bin to deal with. eye crazy

Here there's a black bin, a brown bin, a green box, a food waste box, two kinds of reusable plastic sack, and you have to supply your own clear plastic bags for the plastic recycling.

I should add, I'm particularly pleased that today went smoothly, because it's a windy day, and that always has the potential to mess things up, with boxes and bags tipping over, or blowing away altogether.

We have a blue bin for paper, a black bin for normal rubbish and a brown bin for glass and cans.

We also have a green bin for garden waste but you have to pay £50 a year if you want one of those. Therefore, I've never seen one.

I/we have huge communal bins.

Three in a stinky estate stairwell/end of a lock up for general waste.

Two massive all-in assorted recycling ones.

Once a week they're taken away by the council and that's it, all gone, like magic. happy

It's easily the best waste disposal system I've ever enjoyed.

Yes, enjoyed. yes

Do you get low types coming in from elsewhere and dumping their rubbish there?

Last time I lived in flats, that was a problem. They finally put a combination lock on the bin hut after some degenerate left a sofa there.
