This one's going on a bit.

A scope and majesty few could hope to achieve.

Brilliantly realised multi-tracked harmonies.

It was pleasant but, overall, lacked momentum.

Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

I shall give it 3.5 stars.

Except that's not an option.

So I'll have to give it 4.

Even though it's 3.5.

It was gert.

Typically brilliant songwriting and lyrics and a definite, coalescent sound throughout as well.

Typically powerful themes addressed as well - a conspicuous lack of environmental messages, rather social issues and the dark echoes of repressed history.

A distinctly feminist work.

Shame I mixed up "The Sire of Sorrow (Job's Sad Song)" and "Slouching Towards Bethlehem" (I was expecting a more epic, grandiose finale).

Still, that's hardly Joni Mitchell's fault.

I can't wait to hear what Princess_BellybuttonZ has to say when he doesn't listen to it.
