| Argos has been trending all day on Twitter. Because all their stores in the Irish Republic are to close. _________________ |

| Have all their stores in Britainshire already closed? I know the ones in Sheffield have. Now, you have to go to Sainsbury's to shop there. And it's just a tiny little corner of the store, where you go to pick things up from. _________________ |

| I got my first mobile phone from Argos.
And my second.
And my current laptop.
And my digital radio. _________________ |

| I went in a High Street Argos store in a West Midlands town just before Christmas. The catalogues encased in plastic for the public to browse through have all been removed from the desks!
It just wasn't the same - they have all been replaced with touchscreen computery tablet things instead which are more difficult to have a gentle browse through.
A woman at the same desk was muttering how much she missed the catalogues and I agreed with her. The shop floor actually felt rather stark and empty. |

| I thought all the high street stores had closed down during the pandemic. The one in Fanchester did, that's why I had to start ordering online. - Quote :

I got my most recent one from there, online. _________________ ' "Haven't got houses." Where do they live then?'

| I worked in the stockroom at Ouchies! Shepherd's Bush when I was 19. It was one of the worst jobs I've ever had. _________________ OK, I'm an old shoe

| They used to have 2 within easy walking distance open for ages, I was amazed they didn't just shut one. Then they did. And then the other. _________________ a "couldn't care less, come on life ... amuse me, merchant" |

| I prefer the touchscreens. The worst thing about Argos was those tiny pens that were too small to rest against your hand as you wrote the codes on the forms. |

| No, they were pens. Small red plastic pens. |

| I remember the little pens. I'm sure the ones I remember were light blue though.
The pens at the similar but long-forgotten catalogue store Index were white. |

| I remember the pens being there first, and subsequently replaced by pencils. _________________ ' "Haven't got houses." Where do they live then?'

| I remember pencils and pens being available at various times. Like Buttertubs, I remember the pens being light blue. _________________ |

| I'm thinking of using their click and collect service, now that I know just how many Sainsbury's stores, locally, do it.
I'd always assumed it was just the big Sainsbury's on the Moor that does it. _________________ |
