| For me, of the big names it's Matisse, Gaugin, Cezanne, Toulouse Lautrec, Kandinsky, Chagall, Watteau. In no particular order. |

| Y'all might hate, but I have this Hawaiian beach scene by Leroy Neiman in my hall, and it always cheers me up...

| I might get a couple of Pegge Hopper pieces. I see that they're relatively affordable. |

I like Turner too. I've got Rain, Steam and Speed over my mantelpiece. _________________ ' "Haven't got houses." Where do they live then?'

| Heartbroken by all the dreadful but predictable news coming out of Brazil. Some of the most consistently fabulous and upbeat people in my life are Brazilians. Whether my good friend who looks like a much more beautiful Catherine Zeta Jones, insisting that I could go back to bed to be depressed, only after she'd driven me to and around to see Dresden through her eyes, in a snowstorm, with the car roof off, while she simultaneously drove/danced - still one of the nicest things anyone has ever done for me. To my wonderful travel companion who is quiet but tactile and kind, and completely gay - which has not stopped us from seriously considering getting married to each other. A favourite of mine, Flavio de Rezende Carvalho. To Brazil |

| What news?
Is there another fire?
Or are you still talking about the one in Rio de Janeiro? _________________ Have you ever seen a Squonk's tears?

| No, all the mass graves, the locked down favelas, the state sponsored violence, the collapse or absence of medical care, the increased speed of Amazon destruction to kickstart the crashing economy, the leader who thinks it's all a joke. |

| I know. That's why I placed the beautiful painting in this thread, with positive personal context. There's nobody quite like an exclusive curator who polices those with less pure taste. |

| I especially like the fact the lion's been painted in front of some nice flowery curtains. _________________ Have you ever seen a Squonk's tears?
