I've been watching videos about Wilkinson's Wilko Blox. I didn't even know it existed until yesterday. It's a fraction of the cost of Lego and supposed to be better quality than Block Tech.

I have often seen Blox when shopping in Wilkinsons, and idly wondered as to its quality. Cos they don't sell rubbish in there you know.

I haz constructed it.
It took an hour and twenty minutes.

They had some £1 sets but I decided to be extravagant.

The Lego set it's a blatant knock-off of costs $76 on Amazon. https://www.amazon.com/LEGO-City-Fire-Truck-60002/dp/B00A850R3W

Anyway, this is my review.
It's a nice-looking model and definitely better value at £5 than the Lego version is at $76 ( ).
Its three flaws are:
It's made of lots and lots of tiny little bricks when, in some cases, bigger bricks could have been used. For instance, the white side panels are each made from 24 separate bricks, when two 1X4 bricks would have sufficed for each one.
The section housing the front wheels is a little fragile and could have done with a bit of reinforcement.
The turntable holding the ladder in place only has four studs, which is not enough to achieve a secure attachment, meaning the ladder comes off if you try to move it. It clearly needs reinforcing by the addition of a 2X4 brick.
The pluses are that you get three little men with it (the Lego version only has 2) and you get a free fire hose and fire hydrant. It also has rubber tyres and, from what I gather, Block Tech vehicles have traditionally come with plastic tyres.
I also had three pieces left over when it was all finished.

Today, in Poundland, I bought the Block Tech Block Tower. There are six boxes of bricks in it. With them, you can make five models, and the sixth box has 50 assorted extra pieces in it.
This is it: https://www.theworks.co.uk/p/construction-toys/block-tech-block-tower/5015934433591?CAWELAID=720011340002664253&CATARGETID=720011340002679026&CADevice=c&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIoIOKtpnf3wIVSbDtCh2LKg7hEAQYASABEgL7afD_BwE
