There was one on Shaftsbury Avenue back in the '80s.

I had a trademark square burger there.

It had tiny bits of bone in it.

I didn't go back.

It didn't last long.

I've been to them in Florida. yes

It's like McDonalds but a bit more old skool and pleasantly twee.

I'm fairly certain there was one in Sheffield back in the early 1990s. I don't know what happened to it.

Never. And I’m in no hurry.

Nor Taco Bell. I’ve only been in a Burger King once, and the same for KFC which used to have a basement premises on the Brompton Road where I went after a shoplifting spree, only to see pigeons pecking all over the floor. I tried someone’s chicken, which crunched, so I spat it out.

I’d rather we got an O’Tacos - a very good French fast food chain. And more Maoz branches.

I see Butterfield said it was twee. I googled, and it doesn’t look twee to me. The images offered a promotional photograph of a chocolate shake that looks like the product of an unwell dog.

I’m not sure this Americanisation is a trend to embrace. They won’t be happy until we’re all waddling around/using mobility scooters to get to pay-per-use doctors or hospitals with security guards and credit card machines.

We never import anything decent from there - a tradition of philanthropy, randomly great museums with marvellous endowments across the land, a spirit of can do optimism. Just culture wars and more fast food outlets.

I think it was OK, it was 1990 so I can't remember much about it, I was on a coach trip and thought "Oh look, a Wendys, how exotic lets give it a go"

Thinking about it, it was in America.

I knew someone who worked in one for a spell.

Therefore, I was thinking it must have been in Sheffield.

But, thinking about it, I think he worked there during a visit to America.

I think its the logo that mainly makes me think of Wendy's as twee and traditional, and not the sort of place youths would want to congregate on the car parks with music blasting out of their lowered ~~Ford Capris Vauxhall Novas~~ Mercedes A180 AMGs.

It just looks so.... wholesome.

I swear that the Wendi-burger I had was from a place on Shaftsbury Avenue though.
