I wonder who was The Real McCoy?

I shall have to Google it.

Wikipedia wrote:The phrase "The real McCoy" may be a corruption of the Scots "The real MacKay", first recorded in 1856 as: "A drappie o' the real MacKay", ("a drop of the real MacKay"). This appeared in a poem Deil's Hallowe'en published in Glasgow and is widely accepted as the phrase's origin.

They never do that in the adverts .They always open them first and then crush them with their fingers.

Even though it's impossible to crush them with your fingers. rant

I wouldn't know. I only use Kallo Very Low Salt Organic Vegetable Stock Cubes aristojar

Mind, you have to be careful how you dissolve them. Experience has shown me that you have to use the cocoa approach: crush the cube, pour on just enough water to dampen it, mix it up into a paste, then gradually put in the rest of the water.

Linda Bellingham obvo didn't have time to do things properly.

If you say 'space ghettos' in an American accent, it sounds like you're saying 'Spice Girls' in a Scottish accent.

Hmmm, sort of. I just tried saying both in my best American and Scottish accents. Just to be pedantic, I think the Scottish roll of the 'r' in 'girls' kind of sets them apart, where Americans would pronounce the double 't' in 'ghettos' more as a 'd'.

Or something.

The Scots r isn't rolled, it's trilled - it's an alveolar tap very similar to the one that Americans put in words with a central 't' sound.
