I have to admit I think I only know him from his brief appearance on the "Perfect Day" single. I may have also seen him on Jools Holland or similar at some point.

1980 is apparently sort of somewhere in between, but personally I'd associate more with Generation X, yet with some hints of M*llennial. I've read the term "Xennial" for the borderline people which is probably quite apt.

Made one famous, but not very good, film.

Also, if you're of a certain age, you'll always associate the music with Simon Bates tragic "our tune" spot, which subsequently ruined any actual emotional power the film ever had.
