| This rekkid has that weird, beguiling soprano sax sound on it that sounds a bit like a synthesizer. _________________ Disprove the return of a potato (5)

| The band on the LP is the very creme-de-la-creme of New Orleans musicians on it. _________________ Disprove the return of a potato (5)

| Is he in the same envelope as Dr John? I've never heard much Dr John but assume this is the sort of thing he does. _________________ |

| Sounds a bit like a subdued Parliament. |

He's on Venus and Mars! Yes, it did strike me that Venus and Mars was recorded in New Orleans, so local musicians could be used. _________________ |

Yes. New Orleans/Southern Funk soul. AT is black rather than Creole/Cajun however. _________________ Disprove the return of a potato (5)

| This is a bit Barry White without the deep vocals. _________________ |

| The only thing about Allen Toussaint is that his vocals are slightly weak. Lacking range and depth of timbre. He was always more of a songwriter, musician and bandleader than front man, but I find his vocals wonderful by the veery nature of their limitations. _________________ Disprove the return of a potato (5)

| This is one of the album's weaker tracks. _________________ Disprove the return of a potato (5)
