The Mike Pretty Pattern ones are too long…
Album of the Year is 43 minutes.

Maybe we should do a…
Jazz album.

Well, yes, like Metal (proper Metal, no sub-genres), we've not done a proper Jazz album.
I'm not sure we could endure something really hardcore, but B*chy's Brew?
Probably too long.

Or we could just wuss out and do a Django Reinhardt album or something?

Something like this is quite tempting
I mean, it's short.

Button'Z brew is hideously long.
What's bad about all this 'pussyfooting' about is that the first time I really noticed the running commentary thing was when Wendi-Pops did Lou Reed's Metal Machine Music - http://www.rocknroll.net/loureed/articles/mmmbangs.html - and then I thought, "well, the gloves are off, we can just do whatever we want regardless of how torturous and long an album might be".
However, since then, everyone's gone a bit 'snowflake'.
The original hardcore concept of Wendi actually trying to review an album of raw feedback in real time has been compromised in countless ways.
I'm ultimately blaming Wendi for setting the bar so high/low.

Not sure I agree, Metal Machine Music, Faust, Throbbing Gristle, PIL (when they were good), Magazine other assorted Post Punkers, Nurse With Wound and newer* stuff like Slint or God Speed You Black Emperor!, it's all the new Orthodox alternative music standard ain't it?
The real interesting stuff is Bay City Rollers and Supertramp, undiscovered Gems one and all.
What I'm saying it, Wendy makes better choices than me.
*lol.

Problem is with something like Miles Davis is that all the songs tracks are pretty much the same, which isn't a bad thing in itself, but it makes saying anything interesting about it tricky, especially in a live listening format.
Same with Status Quo, or Augustus Pablo. Or most 'dance' based records thinking about it. It's why I ditched the Clan of Xymox album, it seemed great, but what can you say about the 4th dark wave classic in a row?
At least the Iron Maiden album has a Prog sound on a couple of the tracks, which is why it would work better as a Album Listening Thingy than say, a Motörhead album, even if that would be better album.
Possibly.
I think I maybe over thinking this.

What would the best Judas Priest LP be to do?
British Steel, or something a bit earlier?

How about Unleashed in the East?
it's a 'live' album.
