| This is like an overprotective dad or older brother lecturing his teenage daughter. _________________ Ibble obble black bobble, ibble obble out!

| That last one could have done with being longer. _________________ |

| It is over. That was a very odd album that didn't seem to know just what direction it should be going in. It worked best when it was being strange and menacing and worst when it was being more mainstream and heartthrobby. I did feel his own songs worked better than the covers. Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it. _________________ |

| I was all set to be very cynical and unimpressed by that album.
Bu' I wern'.
In truth it was a bit of a dog's dinner song-wise and in the hands of a lesser producer it might've not worked out so well, but Ess*x's vocals were pretty impressive and there was plenty to just simply enjoy. _________________ Ibble obble black bobble, ibble obble out!

| I liked his Paul Simon cover as well. I'd be quite interested to hear the original because I can't imagine Gunken and Simarfel doing anything that sounded like that, production-wise at least. I'm unsure how to mark it. Part of me thinks 4 stars, yet another part of me says that if I listened to it again I'd be less impressed... _________________ Ibble obble black bobble, ibble obble out!

| The discussion on Wikipedia about the composition and production (Arrangement and context) was conceived for the song "Rock On" is really interesting. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rock_On_(song) "Flowers himself noted that, as a reward for devising the double-tracked bass line, he was paid double his normal session fee, and thus received £24 instead of the usual £12." _________________ Ibble obble black bobble, ibble obble out!
