Fangirl Three's Album-a-day* Provenance Challenge
Recent reader surveys on the NHOTW have indicated a huge interest among members in what years all the albums in my collection came out.
So I'm going to give you a chance to provide me with the data. In return you get to mock my musical choices over the years.
Let's begin by going back two years to another sunny autumn Sunday, October 6th 2018, when a slightly younger F3 heard Ride A White Swan on Radio 6 on her new telly, and rushed into town to buy Gold, T. Rex's greatest hits.
(* the word 'day' is a general indication of frequency and the actual frequency of posts may be more or less than that)

That has been duly recorded on the spreadsheet.

Re: Fangirl Three's Album-a-day* Provenance Challenge
Good morning and welcome to Day 2 of the Challenge.
Let's go back to Monday September 11th 1989, when young FG3 - having discovered that the theme tune to Radio 4's medical programme Medicine Now was Industrial Disease by Dire Straits - went down to Laser Discount, the soon-to-close CD shop which many of her previous purchases had been made at, to buy the album it was on, Love Over Gold.

Going back exactly 13 years to Oct 13th 2007, when I purchased Bob Dylan's not-as-bad-as-some-of-his-later-stuff album Love and Theft.

See, if I hadn't started this thread, neither of us would have learnt about that chilling coincidence.

Welcome back to the challenge. Don't touch that dial.
The day today is September 15th 1986, when I persuaded someone to tape me a copy of Queen's soundtrack album (with retouched dialogue) to Flash Gordon.

Re: Fangirl Three's Album-a-day* Provenance Challenge
Some time between Jan 9-23 1987, someone for some reason taped me a copy of Dire Straits' Brothers in Arms. I suspect I was really after Walk of Life.
It's among my least listened-to albums, in the 33 years since I acquired it I think I've listened to it about 3 times, and one of those was when I did a 'listen to all my albums in order' challenge.

Re: Fangirl Three's Album-a-day* Provenance Challenge
It is easily my least favourite Dire Straits album.

They weren't the same without Pick Withers.

On Nov 2 2002, I bought The The's album Infected, so as to get my hands on their excellent single Heartland.
