| I read a book on Glam, and after a long description on why exactly Slade were Glam, despite looking like brickies in a bit of slap and why Rick Wakeman in a gold cape doing the story of King Arthur on Ice wasn't. Neither was Elton John as he made music to boil pasta to. That last line always struck me as perfect. |

| Elton John never ever pretended to be glam rock. _________________ Disprove the return of a potato (5)

No body said he did. But when you get someone who dressed that flamboyantly in the early to mid 70s, you would expect a bit of camp, excitement or joy in his music. Not beige Wallpaper. Why does he still do it when he dosn't seem to enjoy fame, it's not like he's got anything to say lyrical.

Slade weren't really Glam and never purported to be. They were just a zany hard rock band with a strong sense of playfulness and faintly berserk fashion sense that smashed it during the same period. Rick Wakeman was always a tool and prog. _________________ Disprove the return of a potato (5)

Are you saying he never had a penchant for the traditional 'torch song'. Honestly. You sound like Donald Trump. _________________ Disprove the return of a potato (5)

Rick Wakeman was always a tool and prog. No Slade weren't Glam. And this is Disco. |

| I can't believe that I'm having to defend this.
It's like a personal attack.
That's why.
I don't give a cr*d. _________________ Disprove the return of a potato (5)
