I have just realised I've never heard Stan Jones' original version of Ghost Riders in the Sky.

On his version, it was just called RIders in the Sky.
As Burl Ives' version was the second ever recorded, and it had, "Ghost," in the title, it must have been Burl who gave it the name everyone has since known it by.

No.
Although I think it was a blatant influence on the theme tunes to A Fistful of Dollars and A Few Dollars More.

Have I ever heard John Fogerty's original version of Rocking All Over the World?
I'm not sure, so I shall assume I haven't.

Strings sound suspiciously like Silly Love Songs.

It really doesn't sound like it was recorded in 1980.
