Is early 1997 retro enough yet?

And people complain about high prices these days. Everything media related is pretty much free these days! AND you don't have to queue for it. Or face a man with long hair and a grin at the till.

Several years after its closure, Our Price still had a presence in the Mander Centre, Wolverhampton, West Midlands as the empty retail unit had yet to be occupied by a new tenant and still bore the branding.[29] In January 2013, however, the signs were removed.[citation needed]

Yes I remember Our Price still being there for years after, with all the signs still up, like a ghost.
I didn't go there often but I did buy the Boney M Megamix CD single from there around Christmas 1992.

30 years ago today I went into an old record (and CD) shop and bought the CD of Laughing At The Pieces' by Doctor & the Medics. It had started at £11.99 and been successively marked down to £8.99, £7.99 and £6.99.
It still wasn't good value though.

Do you still have it? If I saw that in a charity shop I'd buy it.
....For no more than £1.

I certainly do still have it.
I don't think I've listened to it since 1989 though.

Who'd have thought that nearly 35 years later Bob Marley's Legend would still be in the charts due to its sales on vinyl!

Our Price looked pretty much the same as that when I was regularly visiting their stores by the early 90s. They felt drab, dated and had grubby carpets compared with HMV which always seemed ultra modern, clean and fresh.
