So that people would know Jolene was on it, and that would boost its sales? How trite. |

| Hint of a banjo. Or maybe not. Has there been little to no banjo on this album? |

So that people would know Jolene was on it, and that would boost its sales? It's actually a very complex concept album wherein all the subsequent songs reflect Jolene's emotional 'ripple effect'. Like Tommy. _________________ Disprove the return of a potato (5)

| It is over. That was a delightful album, perfectly judged in every way. Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it. _________________ |

Like Tommy. Maybe this is true. So perhaps Jolene really is the reason for all of the album's content. |

| Well, that was a jolly little album and rather enjoyable. A bit too much generic country for my liking but it wasn't overwhelming and there were some very nice moments.
3.5/5 - rounded up to 4/5! |

| An entirely charming album.
Jaunty and tuneful but infused throughout with classic lyrical hillbilly misery and wistful 'smiling in the face of bleak misfortune'.
I sense that Dolly's done a better album though.
She almost definitely gets another shot in the Nu-HotW commentary scheme of things. _________________ Disprove the return of a potato (5)
