| I went into The Works, yesterday, determined to finally buy some of the fake Lego they always sell, after years of putting it off. _________________ |

| And, for the first time ever, they didn't have any fake Lego. _________________ |

| Anyway, this thread is where we can recount our adventures in the high street's most obligatory book/toy/whatever clearance shop. _________________ |

| I never shop in The Works now, despite having picked up many bargains there in the late 90s. I'll tell you why: i was in there one day, and another customer was trying to get a refund for a double cassette audiobook she'd bought in there which only had one tape in it, and the staff were giving her the 'A-B repeat' treatment about how she had to phone head office etc, and she lost her temper with them, whereat they immediately pulled out a walkie talkie and gave the town centre security goon squad her description, saying she'd threatened them etc, which she hadn't, and I knew, cos I'd been listening.
Ever since that day I have shunned their stores. They can keep their £2.95 audiobooks of The Secret History, cos I ain't buying no audiobooks off no liaaaaaaahs. |

| I too thought this was a thread about the Queen LP. Imagine my disappointment... _________________ Disprove the return of a potato (5)
