It has now hit today's 31 degree target.

But expected to drop to just 13 degrees overnight.

Then be 30 tomorrow.

And then 31 the next day, and 31 the day after that.

A beautiful cool dawn, purple and orange and red, at 5am, but that just made me think about how hot it will be later.

It very cool and fresh when I got up.

But 31 degrees expected later.

Expected to peak at 27 degrees but with scattered thunderstorms.

They said it'd be colder today, but if anything it was hotter than yesterday. And I had to go on a long detour through parched countryside to avoid heavy traffic on the A12.

The much advertised rain has failed to materialise.

In fact, every time I look at the Met Office website, they're saying something different.

In fact, Saturday looks like being the only dry day out of the next seven.
