The forum in which all human experience resides. Especially for fans of the now-deceased original Hall of the Wendigo. Still Number One with the core demographic.

The Borkwell bit is only 50% correct.

Xanthi is a lovely name. But viability all hinges on the surname.
I also wanted to call him Mikey but I was told that it was a) too Look Who's Talking and b) might be pronounced as Mickey.

Despite being a bit anti names that will obviously date (having myself been cursed with one more appropriate for a Stringfellows stripper circa 1980), I loved the trend a few years ago for rehabilitated or taboo biblical names.
Jezebel, Iscariot, Haman, Herod, Pontius, etc. One of my friends has a son called Adonai, which is lovely. Reading some of the comments under the Shulem video I saw it there and my memory was jogged.
Some of the taboo or villainous ones are very beautiful names. It's real shame they hadn't been used at all in the intervening 2,000 or so years. You'd be so unique and nobody would forget your name once introduced.

Well, there's not much you can do with that. You might as well go all out on the first name. Still haven't heard or seen hide nor hair of Rita and Rose. I expect I'll meet them eventually at some family funeral, where the very air is filled with violent menace, and distant relations are all gathered in sunglasses to listen to 'My Way'.

I wonder if in another 2000 years taboo names like Ad*lf, Myra, Boris and Donald will come back into fashion.

I bet they will. In 2987 people will be sitting at home on Mars, all excited to welcome home Baby Doc Duvalier, while a feeling left out little Adolf has a tantrum and pretends not to be interested in the new addition to the family.

I'm sorry to say that with pets and animals it only counts if it's the exact opposite.
Like if you call a cat Ian.

Listen, This forum has brutally harsh rules.
You should've known that from the outset.
I don't believe that you read the 'important things to know' section where it's VERY CLEARLY explained that affectionate pictures of Doggos and Kittehs must adhere to the utmost standards of etc...
I can't believe I write so much.
Drunk.
Tuesday night.

Some of these names do seem to be making a comeback. I know a couple of Graces of student age, and a Lilly. These are all human beings, not a kitteh or doggo among them. I also know an Angus. Again, human. Not cow.

Oh, Ethel isn't her real name. I think she's trying to recreate Americana from an historic age judging by some of her photos.

Beatrice is the one sitting at the table, not the 'cello player as I think I thought then.
Possibly, it's been a while.
