This afternoon, they were playing Stop the Cavalry on the PA of Sheffield's glamourable Moor Market. This is the first Christmas song I have heard this year.

I meant to start this thread last week - when I heard Jeremy Vine play Fairytale of New York, in what was practically mid November. I turned the radio off as soon as I heard it start.

I heard the beginning of Warm This Winter by Gabriella Cilmi earlier on Sara Cox's show. It's one one of the more modern Christmas-ish songs you hear occasionally over the festive period and is perhaps less annoying.

I think Radio 2 are playing the less popular "Christmas" songs first - I still haven't heard any of the more popular ones, other than Jeremy Vine playing Fairytale of New York in the middle of November.

When you say "new", do you mean the one that was released last year?

I still haven't heard Slade or Wizzard - have they fallen out of fashion, only to be replaced with Christmas songs by the likes of Sia, Coldplay, Leona Lewis and Gabriella Cilmi?

I've not had any music radio on so far this December and, so, have heard no Christmas songs on the radio. I'm about to put Radio 2 on. It had better be playing Christmas music, or there'll be trouble.
