If Ukraine win, does that mean it'll be held back in that there Liverpool?

That's it, I'm out.
That show needs about 2 hours taken off it.

They should just do the voting and not bother with the songs.

I think we might have done better if the performance hadn't been quite so.... gay. Gay just isn't in anymore. It has to be trans or queer or non-binary to get votes in 2024!

I think overall Croatia was my favourite. I hoped that would win. The actual winner, Switzerland, passed me by music-wise; I could only really remember the spinning disc thingy and his performance at the end without it showed how much of a bland song it was.
Still, It'll be nice to see Eurovision in Switzerland next year. I can't think when they last won - Celine in 1988ish?

I think you have that the wrong way round. The hostility towards those three identities is going through the roof, matched by constant drumbeat rhetoric against them. The level of hysteria against them is now reaching a frightening crescendo and already creeping into reactionary legislation - if our democracies backslide further, they’ll be in the camps first. The UK didn’t win because it was a gay man doing a gay visual, it didn’t win because it was a sh*t performance.

Those communities are louder and more visible than they ever were - which is fair enough - but that also means any backlash is going to be equally loud as it was with the old skool gay community decades ago. You barely see the traditional gay rainbow flag anymore; I don't think I saw a single one over 8 hours of this year's Eurovision compared with the others which were with the various performers. Gays are done with!
And a LOT of straight people have jumped onto this new flag bandwagon - but then they always do, before they move onto the next trend or fad. Remember when straight women took over all the gay bars 20ish years ago with their hen nights and such?
I saw one of those chevron flags flying on a rural English Heritage castle last year - I bet they didn't even know who or what it represented, but they felt obliged to put it up and it made them feel good about themselves.
