Re: They meet by night
I'm having one of my occasional bouts of annoyance that The Monkey's Paw is called The Monkey's Paw when monkeys don't have paws.

I'll just check to see if he came up with any other story titles that were incorrect.

He wrote a poem called The Coliseum.
That's not how you spell Colosseum.

He wrote a story called Metzengerstein.
That's just a random selection of letters.

It turns out he didn't write The Monkey's Paw.
It was written by W. W. Jacobs.

George Orwell refers to him in Good Bad Books as someone who writes short stories about British adventurers in the Far East. I opened one of his books in the library once and was able to confirm that impression.

Tomorrow, the date'll be 22/02/2022 which reads the same backwards as forwards but, also, the same upside down as the right way round.

Ten years ago, when I had my trip to Devon, I mentioned that, passing Birminghamshire, I'd seen some mountains with pointy tops but I didn't know what they were.

I thought we worked out that it was the Malvern Hills in Worcestershire that you saw - you can see them clearly from the M5 near Worcester heading south and north.
Unless you were travelling through Telford or Shrewsbury I can't imagine you'd have seen or noticed the Wrekin or the other hill.

Ooh, we can do this these days that we couldn't do 10 years ago.
The Malvern Hills seen from the M5 near Worcester. Does this ring any bells?
