The forum in which all human experience resides. Especially for fans of the now-deceased original Hall of the Wendigo. Still Number One with the core demographic.

Anyway, still very sore from the dunderheaded mauling of yesterday, I can say without reservation or prejudice that that was the very epitome of retrograde mediocrity.
Albums like that should not be allowed to be made by official edict.
I can't see how it can be a significant commercial success in any event, and, for this kind of fodder, that's surely the bottom line.
e.g. Pharrell Williams is similarly dull, but he's sold squintillians of mp3s, this just isn't remarkable enough - not in any way shape or form.
I can only imagine that fans of her earlier stuff will stubbornly stand by her.
Ultimately I have to admit that although I was aware of her existence before I couldn't tell/hum you a song she's ever done and after this it seems that the only USP she has is looking a bit like Tilda Swinton.

It's just so much better isn't it? She know when to stop singing, and the hooks are better.

She's got an accent in that.
Is she English, or Swedish or something and pretending to be?

Bulletproof was her big hit, a decade ago. It's a very effective nod towards 1980s Synth-Popsters such as Depeche Mode.

From WikiBorkia...

She has a soprano vocal range
Crikey, you don't say!
I think I've got a wider octave range than she has.

A band that I have always loathed.

I was amazed at how many hits they had in the 80s on those repeats of Top of the Pops.
Couldn't remember any of them. I don't mean from the 80s, I mean I can't remember any of them from the repeats on Top of the Pops.
They do nothing for me.
But La Roux were more a Heaven 17 The Human League division 4 sort of thing?
Personally I prefer the Neo-synthwave stuff like Night Jewels, Patience, Sally Dige sort of thing to the old skool stuff. Normally I'm a snob when it comes to things like that, but I think they do it better.

I was just listening to that on headphones, the tone of the instrumentation has a real SID Chip goodness, an analogue richness totally missing in the new album.
The old track had got less going on in the mix, but dem square waves,

Gullible Fool sounds like...background music from a cheap edutainment PC game from the 90s.
I like it.

I find this album very unpleasant to listen to. It's what I imagine an album created by a sentient Casio keyboard would sound like.
