Bluejeans or Poojeans?
Captain Beefheart - Bluejeans & Moonbeams (1974)
Almost universally reviled and ridiculed.
Depending on who you believe, the Captain either cruelly fired the entire Magic Band after years of service, or the band, after years of psychological abuse and poverty had just had enough and sacked the Captain from his own band.
A whole new band of anonymous session men were drafted in and the result was two quickly dashed off albums released in 1974 (this being the second).
It is an album that is almost always cited as being Beefheart's most wretched, bland, mainstream and all-round dreadful album.
At the time it was met with scorn from critics, fans, former band members and was even ultimately disowned by the Man himself.
Time has not been kind to it either - it is still widely regarded as worthless.
I like it.
I think much of is indeed lovelily wonderbold. :stanleyunwin:

I still haven't got around to listening to that 1981 Captain Beefheart live in Vancouver album album.

I imagine that that it's well-liked.
After this album and the other 1974 effort Unconditionally Guaranteed he didn't make an album for another 4 years when him and the rest of original band started to coalesce again.
Bat Chain Puller could be a good commentary option.
