And 6-packs of Wotsits for the same amount.

Also, larger than normal packets of McVities chocolate digestives for a Pound. They have mountains and mountains and mountains of them.

It's what their checkout staff are being told to promote to the customers.

What checkout staff? Most of the checkout staff in Poundlands I've been in recently have been replaced with scan-it-yourself robot tills which constantly tell you that there's an unexpected item in the bagging area.

It's no wonder people are more anxious these days. I always feel on edge when using self checkout tills.

In the one I use, it seems to be all self-checkout until around 10 am, at which point, people gradually start to appear at the tills to serve you.

But yes, self-checkout is evil and I refuse to use it.

I like the robo-tills, cos I can pay by card without the sales assistant seeing what my PIN is.

I have got one of my Poundland USB fans going.
It's a little overpowered. The side of me it's blowing on feels like it's in danger of freezing solid.

Inside Poundland's £2 bubble machine.
I so have to get one of those.
I'm going to fill my entire house with bubbles.

Their electronic payment machinery is down today and I don't have any cash on me.

I didn't know you could get Cheetos in this country. When I was in Venezuela a few years ago we practically had to live on them due to a shocking dearth of restaurants. I got quite into them but the cheese dye they are coated in is unbelievably staining.

We had a thread that went on for pages about Cheetos/Wotsits, but no one can find it now…

A great shame. Of those two I'd go for Cheetos. I find Wotsits horribly sticky when mixed with saliva, and you need to brush your teeth pretty much immediately. The pay off isn't worth it. No real flavour.
But neither can hold a candle to M&S Cheese Tasters.
