You just find Carry On Screaming too scary.

Re: Socially distanced Christmas TV 2020 :excited:
It is a bit scary.
But there's a lot of disturbing sex stuff in it too, like the way FF Oddbodifies Harry H Corbett and then immediately starts dominating him. Though on reflection that may have been the fons et origo of their charming new domestic relationship seen in the final scene

Shouldn't that Latin text be in italics.
I mean, as an a priori condition within a modern academic text.

Jim Dale going Mr. Hyde and throwing the hollow models of Oddbod and Son through the windows.
Quite good editing all things considered BTW.
Also, Rubbertiti.

The way KW falls in the batter and then conveniently moves over to the vat of hot fat...
Frying tonight!

And Joan gets the last laugh with the wink to camera.
Setting it up for the inevitable sequel.

I never put Latin in italics when I'm colloguing with sophisticated types who I know will recognise it.

I loved Carry On Screaming when I was a kid, nothing funnier than 'FRYING TONIGHT!'

I've never really got it. I guess the fact that I first saw that scene on one of those "best of" compilations which probably missed the context so I've never really found it funny. Is there an actual joke/word play/euphemism in there somewhere?

Re: Socially distanced Christmas TV 2020 :excited:
The bath of white stuff is like batter, and the sizzling hot bath is like hot oil, so it's as if KW is being fried at a chip shop. 'Frying Tonight' is the sign chip shops would put up to let people know that freshly fried batches of fish and chips were on sale.

I see. It was the last bit that I didn't know so the joke kind of went over my head.
