The epic shoe thread
China is just throwing our hat in the ring for the most god-awful ugly shoes to ever be crowdfunded. For $200 it better come with a paper bag to wear over my head to hide the shame... pic.twitter.com/yFwt4IiPf7

Giving me Blockaboots flashbacks.
Weirdly, I bought 3 pairs of shoes this morning, and they were made in China. But they were just ordinary sensible shoes.

I've spent much of the last 15 years in Hackney.
I've seen worse.

Re: The epic shoe thread
These...
With black spray on style Givenchy jeans, black cotton market stall vest, black Balmain blazer - gold buttons, black leather shopper that was my mothers decades ago which looks great and smells like aged leather should. My gold signet ring. And big gold thin hoop earrings. Hair up. I will be very tanned. Also black and gold Versace sunglasses, a la the Notorious BIG. And a simple almost invisible black belt from charity shop.
For an engagement party.

Re: The epic shoe thread
ISTR similar colour schemes for shoes being fashionable at some point in the late 80s. Been racking my brains to remember when it was - 1987, 1989 maybe?

Neon is back in a big way, and it's a trend I can really get behind. I also think they'll look great with white jogging bottoms and a white vest, with a variety of jackets and Blazers (specifically thinking of my current favourite, Prince of Wales grey check blazer) making them an ideal multi purpose buy for more casual events like supermarket trips and the like.

Rather cruel remarks.
I prize comfort and wearability. That's why I've posted beautiful examples of just that. They are all pretty standard, even conservative, in height. No ridiculous platforms have ever been purchased by me.

Re: The epic shoe thread
The pink ones plus outfit for instance - smart casual. Shoes delivered, jeans of that shade and cut already owned, top bought - and its what I'm wearing to my sons first day back at school, canapé meet and greet.
And despite my suggestions, he's apparently wearing a pair of these - which he has been all summer...so, you see, I'm not a shoe tyrant.
My only request is that they aren't teamed with the matching zip up tracksuit top thing. I tried to shrink it in a very hot wash and it came out fine.

I might add my brown leather belt with Caligula in profile gold buckle.

Re: The epic shoe thread
It upsets my mother and me that both of us take larger sizes than my gran did. All of her beautiful Rayne and Ferragamo shoes can't be worn by us. They are all in storage in their original boxes and tissue paper, some with wooden or padded shoe inserts - she was very precise about how her shoes were treated. She probably wouldn't have liked the above - too flat. I love them - they'd be good with jeans and a blazer.

Those ones in the middle look like they've been dredged up from the ocean floor with all barnacles on.

Re: The epic shoe thread
Lots of this type of thing...
I'm not sure she'd appreciate her great grandsons choice of footwear...the trainers above and those awful huge running trainers that teenage boys favour, complete with the skinny tracksuit bottoms. A love of shoes was one of our family traits. I'm trying to instill it. So far I've had limited success (it's trainers all the time) with shoes but far more with scent - our other family passion.
