Police officer sacked for paying 90p too little for charity Jaffa Cakes
PC Chris Dwyer put 10p in charity tin at Halifax police station and claimed he had paid correct amount of £1
A police officer has been sacked after taking two packets of Jaffa Cakes from a charity stall without paying full price.
PC Chris Dwyer paid 10p for the confectionery, and then claimed he had paid the correct amount of £1.
The West Yorkshire officer, 51, later changed his story and said he could not remember what coins he had placed in the charity tin at Halifax police station.
Dwyer was given an instant dismissal on Thursday after a hearing found him guilty of gross misconduct and said his behaviour was “dishonest and of a criminal nature”.

As an hip-hop 'head', from as far back as the early-to-mid '80s, it should be noted that TW was always considered an utter joke by all and sundry within the UK rap 'community'.
On his various shows he was routinely mocked (to his face) by any US rapper or group who came on his show - not because he didn't deserve it.
"Daaaaaag, and we..."
The problem was that the more authentic (or at least considerably less try-hard) pair Max LX and Dave VJ on Kiss were incompetent as broadcasters.
Westwood gained respect and coverage purely by dint of being extremely enthusiastic and immersing himself in hip-hop culture to such an extent that he eventually became a kind of de facto figurehead for the promotion of the genre in this country.
I guess that once Eminem hit big the stigma of being a white hip-hop fan was dispelled forever and the idea that a white person could be integral to the culture became steadily more acceptable.
It never stopped Westwood being an utter t**l though.
