Re: Christie - Christie (1970).
The spirit of John Fogerty storms back in the studio with a vengeance.

This one sounds ever so slightly more promising.

Some actually nuanced key changes.

A smidgen of soul.

This is the best song on the album by a moonlight mile.

Re: Christie - Christie (1970).
Well, that was one of the most flat, lame, pedestrian records we've ever done.
They were a band with absolute no identity whatsoever - a moribund mish-mash of CCR, The Beatles and a bunch of other ersatz country pub rock plodders.
If it wasn't for the first and last songs I'd be tempted to give this one star.
However...

Re: Christie - Christie (1970).
It is over.
That was a competent but uninspired album that struggled to get the pulse racing. It may not be insignificant that the musicians on Yellow River were actually The Tremeloes who were clearly better at getting a song flowing than the musicians on the rest of the album were.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

I've moved this one to the Waiting Room of Doom, as StevieBachyButtonyGuestyBaby hasn't done it yet.
