In the late '70s my youth club (the Cryptic One Club) went to see one of those Spider-Man movies that were released at the cinema in the UK despite being just TVMs in the States.

It was at the ABC Shepherd's Bush and, after we all spilled out into the alley that ran along the back of all the theatres and other cinemas (it looked a bit like a sleazy alley in New York where all gangs like The Warriors would hang out), I swear, hand on heart, as God is my witness, all of us believed we could climb up walls and jump from building to building.

...for about 3 seconds after which we realised we couldn't.

It reminded me of my time on other parts of the internet many moons ago when certain types of men would describe themselves in txt spk as "St8 acting" - state acting? That sounds highly desirable.
