But where did it go?
Where is it hiding?
When will it strike?

I went in B&M Bargains today, and this one had a chilled foods area, with milk and so forth. I haven't seen that before.
They also had artisanal vodka too, cheap. So I bought some for tomorrow.

It's not like rubbing vodka for your skin, it's drinking alcohol, to drink.

Re: Farmfoods, Heron Foods, Iceland etc
Yes indeed.
Sunday is a drink-free day because it's my weekly hotel change day, and since they changed the check-in time from 2pm to 3pm, there isn't enough time to get properly drunk after I've carried all my nomadic luggage inside.

Re: Farmfoods, Heron Foods, Iceland etc
I've just had two "American pasties" I bought from Heron.
I expected them to be like Cornish pasties but, flavourwise, they were more akin to Fajitas.
I was disappointed by their lack of Cornishness but they tasted OK.

American pasties, that's a very strange idea. Americans don't really have meat pies as such.

I used normal cotton pads for my vodka facials. Got out of the habit.

Re: Farmfoods, Heron Foods, Iceland etc
I ventured into B&M again today, and purchased a pack of fresh poppadoms and a tin of potatoes.

Yesterday it was B&M again, for more Pasta Pronto and a Dol Mio stir-in sauce, 75p cheaper than in Adsa.
I also bought a torch and a new keyboard.

Re: Farmfoods, Heron Foods, Iceland etc
Today, Heron had some steak and cheese pies.
This sounds like a strange combination.
I have bought some to discover what they're like.
Once I have eaten them, I shall pass my verdict upon them.

That does seem like a curdling combination. I await the review with interest.

I shall try them tomorrow and report back upon my findings.

I have now had them.

It turns out that steak and stilton go together as well as you'd expect.

I shouldn't like steak from an ethical perspective.
But I do.
I'm not as 'into' pies and pastry as most are.
But I will.
I dislike blue cheese quite a lot.
And I don't.
Ultimately, steak (and its accompanying gravy) combined with Stilton (towards the sharp end of disliked blue cheeses) sounds a bit 'rich'.
Ultimately, is it a thing - as a pairing?
I've not heard of it before.
