One of the girls on the roof in the Get Up and Go segment of The Rutles is Kim Wilde.

Myra De Groot, who played busybody Eileen Clarke, mother of Des, in Neighbours in the 80s, and due to the two year delay was on our screens in the UK for a good while after she'd died in real life...
...worked in America for a while and played roles in Bewitched in 1967 and the Monkees show in 1968!

The name Kylie is derived from an Aboriginal word for boomerang.

I remember hearing/reading that years ago. Not 1980s years ago, but probably 2001 years ago.

It must be influenced by the Scottish name Kyle, as well, though, surely?

Record executive bigwig Clive Davis (still with us at 91) who was behind artists such as Whitney Houston - but as far as I know never wrote any actual songs - had a writing credit on Air Supply's All Out of Love.
The original lyrics as written by Air Supply were "I'm all out of love, I want to arrest you", but Clive Davis suggested "I'm all out of love, I'm so lost without you" would be better for audiences instead, and got the credit. The song was then a huge hit all around the world.

Re Mrs Malaprop. I overheard a real one while I was out, which I’ve got in from.
Talking into her phone, apparently in earnest, I heard a woman describe someone as a ‘real suppository of knowledge’.
