It was an odd and uneven album.

Bookended by a nailed-on smash hit and a genuinely intriguing, undulating, baroque curio it meandered through a number of songs that ranged from mediocre to quite nice (plus one patently inferior cover version), but never once approached crap or offensively anodyne.

Still, it wasn't that good.
