Wouldn’t it be funny if you eventually banged into each other in some service station.

Toyota Island services.
I always do my journey from the West Midlands to North Yorkshire and vice versa without stopping for a w*e.

I went past Doncaster yesterday on the A1(M) north, so I'm guessing our trodden paths crossed, though at different times of the day.
I had actually gone round on the M62/M18 so as to avoid the ongoing Darrington Viaduct roadworks on the A1 at Doncaster. Doncaster services are actually on the M18, at J5.
Although I did come down the A1(M) from Scotch Corner to Ferrybridge before that, so we were probably on opposite carriageways on the same day.

I’ve only just noticed what you did there.

I sometimes use the A602 to traverse from the A10 to reach the motorway network, and I've driven past that bit top left where the roundabout is cordoned off.
I did not realise though that it led to an underpass.

I've had to take all my nomadic stuff out of the car, so it can go to the garage tomorrow to have a new heat shield put on.

My car had its MOT last week and the only two things I had to move were a pound coin in the pocket behind the gearstick and the phone charging lead - though that only cost a couple of pounds and probably only fits older iPhones these days so is hardly snatchable.
I was happy to leave the ice scrapers and a pair of gloves on display.

And that's just the base stuff for being nomadic/surviving long journeys.
There's 20 bags of luggage in the hatch too.
Anyway, all the stuff seen in the photo is now neatly stowed back in the car. And I have a brand new heat shield and left wiper.

I don’t think I’ve taken anything out of any car that’s going to any garage for any reason. I just assume they won’t steal anything because it’d be so obvious who did it. I just park it, lock it, hand over the key, and go off in a taxi.

I'm not afraid of its being stolen, I never leave anything of value in the car. It's just it's difficult for them to work if the car's full of cr*p.

Oh I do, credit cards, wads of cash, jewellery, random art, antiques and antiquities, drugs - if it’s in there it stays in there until I want it. If they steal it I’ll have them kneecapped.
