Dana Andrews said prunes gave him the runes and passing them used lots of skill...
Re: The Electric Prunes - I Had Too Much To Dream (Last Night) (1966)
Is this an original song or based on something more trad.?

Is there some kind of crass insinuation/double entendre in this one?

Re: The Electric Prunes - I Had Too Much To Dream (Last Night) (1966)
It is over.
It was an album that could've done with a proper producer and recording studio but it was pleasant enough and seemed to have influenced the later Beatles.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

Crimey!
An album what I said would be 30 minutes long what was literally 30 minutes long.
Anyway, I liked it.
It had some failings, but considering when it was released/recorded it was pretty ahead of the curve.
Some odd moments - e.g. a faintly lame Surf/Beach Boys effort that didn't fit in at all - and perhaps an overweening urge to be overly clever to the detriment of the 'groove', but...
You could hear many of their musical and structural ideas in the records of many more illustrious artistes to come.
Vier sterne fom mir.
