Gosh, he's Stilgoing. He's the exact average age of my parents too, I thought he was much older.

Evita? Nooo. Don't Cry For Me Argentina is the most famous, and probably only widely known song from that.

I'm liking ScarJo's real life descent into a deranged John Waters style character.

Re: General movie news
Is it just me or does every new film being advertised at the moment look absolutely awful? There's two films which look very similar and each starring a famous actor with CGI animals - Harrison Ford in one and I think Robert Downey Jr. in the other. I believe one of them is Dr Doolittle, with actual talking CGI animals.
But my mild annoyance turned to anger when I saw a trailer for a new CGI/real life Sonic the Hedgehog film, which just looks horrendous! My guess, without seeing any reviews and literally seeing only about one minute of it it'll be a contender for the worst ever film before too long.

*Dolittle
Anyway, a one star review in Teh Graun today...

Apparently Downey Jr attempts a Welsh accent throughout.
Michael Sheen, who is Welsh, does not.

I've been thinking that since about 1984.

Re: General movie news
I will put this here as it seems "Film like" but may be a series??
It will have to go some to match the books though.

Re: General movie news
Like Zarn, I am also very much looking forward to Dune. It will be the second sci fi thing I've watched, after ET. It might open a whole new world of literature and film to me.
I can only hope the film flagged there by NJ has some proper advisors - namely Tina Brown, Sally Beddell Smith, and Beatrix Campbell who can shape the piece to reflect the coherent feminist flourishing of a modern, independent, liberal woman finally free of the many shackles of expectation, learning to live with her complications, take what she wanted without shame or apology, and increasingly seeking the intellectual stimulation she hadn't been provided with as a child and therefore found nothing to recommend it to her in youth.
All other efforts so far have resulted in soft focus fantasy - depicting the heartbreak of some sap drifting around in a daze, in completely the wrong hairstyle and wardrobe. As a great fan, that's never been a narrative I've related to.

Re: General movie news
So, the new Bond movie has been delayed again, until next year, a year after its original release date. I guess "No Time to Die" was never really an appropriate title during a world pandemic.
