There's fireworks going off all over the place. Is there a special occasion?

Re: They meet by night
Gosh, that sounds frightening. Do you find them very tame? I was staying at a friends house when I heard what sounded like an interesting fight outside. So I took a blanket and some cigarettes onto the porch. A very distressed fox raced towards me and the porch light, pursued by another. I only just had time to get inside and slam the door behind me. I've felt guilty ever since because that fox was torn to pieces and left all over the lawn. I was its last place of safety and I slammed a door on it.
It amazes me how tame they are these days. I've seen them crossing the Brompton Road at night. Absolutely incredible really.
I saw pictures of cows at the top of this thread. Thank goodness they are kept in place so far. I'm not really a wildlife person. I took my niece to feed the ducks, and took a beautiful series of pictures of her throwing the pastry flakes of Portuguese custard tarts at them. Apparently they were pigeons.

Re: They meet by night
In my experience, foxes basically act like cats which means that, if they spot you, they just stand there staring at you.
I once had three on my front lawn, when I opened my door to put the wheelie bin out. That was a bit disconcerting. I reckon I could fight one of them off. I'm not so sure about three.
