I've got:
The stand for my Satnav An emergency pair of driving glasses (which might contain some emergency fuel money ) A bit of card with the phone number for the breakdown people/insurance Some change in a little black Groucho bag
In the Boot That fancy pump for the tires, that was a bit dodgy the last time I need it, 2.4 bar with nothing attached to it? eh? A huge Hi-vis jacket Couple of ice scrapers Some engine oil for when I need to top it up Emergency drinking water Spare bags for shopping
Err.. that's it.

*cut/paste*
I have a pound coin for shopping trolleys, a phone cable, a pair of gloves, about 5 ice scrapers (can never remember which work and which don't), and a roll of toilet paper in the glove compartment.
And that's about it. I keep very little in the car. In the olden days there'd have been a road atlas of Britain and an A-Z of the West Midlands on the back seat.

A huge 1.5"/mile road atlas. A heavy, narrow tray for to prop my navigation tablet on. A plastic platform with legs which my strip map filofax goes on. Two plastic boxes which I put opened sandwiches, bags of crisps etc in for easy access when driving. Paper bags to put rubbish in. Three microfibre cloths. A high end Halfords squeegee for when the inside of the windscreen gets covered in moisture. An old archive box lid to serve as a tray for all those items.
And that's just the passenger seat.
The contents of other areas of the car will be revealed in due course.

I forgot to mention the cuddle toy bat I got from Cheshire Zoo that's handy to cover up the stuff in the glove box and to wipe the condensation from the windscreen.
Although I'm now experimenting with having the air conditioning on all the time to see if that fixes that.
And a little USB 8gb thingy that I've got my choons on.

All my tunes are on a 128M card in my tablet.
In the passenger footwell are my rain boots, a book about Britain's roads, a 50s copy of the Guinness Book of Records, a grey tray which I think came with the car, and a big black blanket that I use to cover up anything that needs covering.
Also a carrier bag full of misc stuff that I haven't got round to throwing away.

Yet more racism against non-car people.

The engine light is on. I had to look up what it meant - I thought it was an orange helicopter, which wasn’t making much sense in context to me. Apparently it means the engine is dying.
