Feats of money-saving
I went into town today and saved £6.50 by buying next year's Christmas cards half price
Re: Feats of money-saving
A present for my Mum came late, so I'll give to her next Christmas.
£5 saved/1 present already acquired for next year.

Re: Feats of money-saving
Oh this thread is definitely relevant to my interests on account of my y*ddishness.
Does the NuHotW have a 'finding money thread?' as the previous one did?

I saved 50p yesterday by buying two mini-lettuces that were on their sell-by date.

Re: Feats of money-saving
On Friday, I got a pork pie and a packet of sausage rolls half price from Heron, because it was their sell-by date.

While putting the Christmas tree back in the loft, I saw that it was reduced from £8.99 to £6.99 when I bought it in Woolworths in December 1997.
So I saved £2, or £3.50 in today's money.

Re: Feats of money-saving
I went into Tescos on my way home, hoping amongst other things to buy a Yeo Valley set bio yogurt, but they only had the 0% fat version, which I know from experience is disgusting, so I bought the Onken equivalent, and I saved 25p because it was reduced to £1.
