Is that so? I thought the florin and shilling were demonetised when they brought the new fiddly 10p and 5p bits in, whenever that was. Because the old 10p and 5p used to be the same size as the florin and shilling.

My mother always tells me about this little old lady who came into the post office to ask if they could exchange for the old 5p 6d pieces, back in the day, but only the pre 1932 ones or something, as they were the only ones she 'collected'.

They were the solid silver ones. doh
