I saw the trailer for the other night.
It's also got Ray Milland in it.

I can't recommend it highly enough. It's a heartwarming experience that you think is going to be superficial. It blossoms into a loving tapestry about a family of four and their unexpected friendships. David and Patrick's scenes have moved me to tears more than once. Catherine O'Hara is a triumph. There's even a character called Wendy.

Re: The NEW, "What's that in your eyeballs?" thread. Part 9
'A Passover Seder for a passing animal' and 'you fold it in' have been added to the quotes my brother and I use to communicate life's fundamental truths to each other.
Along with... 'Eeeh, you're not in Barnsley now luv'. Said in 'Where The Heart Is' when a newcomer couldn't find pesto in Skelthwaite. Since used by us when telling each other something expected was unavailable. I'm quite good at the accent imho.
I think that could actually be my favourite line delivered on British television.

The Princess Diana biopic starring Naomi Watts is on on telly this afternoon!
This is one of the worst reviewed films in modern history.
The Guardian review at the time opened with the line "I hesitate to call this car crash cinema, but..."

Yes, that was seriously dreadful. I'm not sure what happened there. I've only been able to watch it once. I could've produced and directed better from the pub. The hair was wrong too. But I think it was ultimately both the storyline and script, combined with the wrong casting. Natasha McElhorne would've been more believable. Watts is too short.
I read the book it was based on when it was first published. That too was total trash. Sub Mills and Boon I'd go so far as to say. I might actually still have it somewhere, too embarrassed to throw it away in case the bin man saw it. Likewise can't have dropped it off at a charity shop.
Any other film should combine the Tina Brown and Sally Bedell Smith biographies. With McElhorne starring.

Poor Naomi Watts.
The audition scene from Mulholland Drive seems so very very far away now.
2000 I think...
Basically, it was.

Well this is it. She's not thick or talentless - she could've turned it down. And when she didn't, everyone else could've walked off set and stayed away until the script had been burned and the hair stylists and buyers/designers had been blacklisted.
The only thing I appreciated was 'Somewhere beyond right and wrong there is a garden. I'll meet you there'.
