This was extensively discussed on Other Brand Forum. I'd never heard of Tottie, and torrented all of it to watch in fascination.
It's very strange, I couldn't believe it was made in the 80s, it has the early 70s aesthetic of Bagpuss etc.

Tottie really does have more of a 70s feel about it. I think the last time I thought about it was when Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin named their child Apple, which was the name of the child doll in Tottie. Seeing Ms. Paltrow in the news again and seeing Apple's name mentioned reminded me of this programme!
