What was it with this guy?

I was going to start a thread where we could discuss artists whom it seemed impossible to pin down and/or whom we couldn't assess as brilliant or irrelevant.

But then, because it was Badly Drawn Boy who I was thinking about/listening to at the moment I thought that that funny woolly-hatted enigma deserved a whole dedicated thread of his own.


Personally, I think he's a kind of genius.

No exaggeration, but he's a weird sort of one-man Beatles.

And what happened to him?

For about 5 years he was everywhere and then not at all.

So thoroughly unsexy in appearance and demeanour, but so unbelievably prolific with the lovely tunes and self-effacingly touching and amusing lyrics...
