What's on for New Years Eve?
For me, I'll probably head to bed after EastEnders. Freshly clean sheets, lavender oil, eyemask, and sleeping pills at the ready.
My son is having a wonderful time in Bosnia, skiing at Jahorina from where he rang for about half a minute to say it was -19c and great.
What are the plans of others here? Glamorous parties? Family get togethers? Having s*x with a new lover on the stroke of midnight?

In the afternoon I'll watch Dressed To Kill, the New Year's Eve episode of The Avengers. Then I'll start drinking and see if I can finish off the last season of the Big Bang Theory.

I don't do New Year's Eve.
I'm bored of over drinking and over eating.

I am going to be both drinking and listening to the Geto Boys.

Is that the first time you've ever used a smiley?

I couldn't help noticing this time that when Steed is counting down to midnight, the second hand on his watch is clearly at 10 seconds and more past midnight.
Re: What's on for New Years Eve?
You can't set the second hand on oldé fashioned watch.
That said, I've not seen that episode in years....

Close to it. I'd probably have to use both hands to count the total instances these days.

Midnight is at 16:39. So if you want to celebrate with them, start the video at 11.43:21 pm.

I do have it on DVD, someplace...
But I'm planning on being in bed by then.

Alone?
I think it must be very wonderful to be in the middle of intense p*n*tr*tion as the bells ring midnight but I've never managed to time it that way. I'm always alone or mid argument instead. In single days, home delivery was hit and miss as to timing.
I did once manage during bonfire night but his bedroom was laid out badly and he wasn't keen to have the curtains open so we could only hear the fireworks. My dream of watching them and ourselves by way of windows and mirrors remains unfulfilled.

Me too, my target pillow time is 9.30pm.
Re: What's on for New Years Eve?
I've had two telephone arguments since my last post three quarters of an hour ago. Full volume. I might ring a couple of other people to really shred my vocal cords before bed. I think I'll ring my ex mother in law next - it must be gone 9pm in Athens so she'll be coming out of her crypt soon with her moustache and her vinyl slip on loafers. I'm sure I can find a few more absolute c***s to call this evening.
