The forum in which all human experience resides. Especially for fans of the now-deceased original Hall of the Wendigo. Still Number One with the core demographic.

1) Helium posts a video of lots of farm critters being let out of a barn in the morning whilst a very enthusiastic and voluble farmer (from Devon?) narrates.
2) Wendi finds the video faintly alarming.
3) Helium, obviously intending that the video impart joy, is slightly disappointed and unimpressed by her alarm.
4) Stevie_ButtonZ states - as time-honoured HotW tradition dictates - that he knew that a thread on this forum dedicated to happy things (all of them) would turn into a bloodbath of recrimination and loathing.
5) You don't get it.

Ahh. Helium's post has no video in it over here at my end, so the whole exchange was a puzzle.

So could I.
Isn't there a setting you need to do to be able to see Twitter posts in all their glory? Or am I misremembering?

I remembered. Three six packs purchased. My hand is quite sore from carrying the bag home but peace is almost guaranteed for several days now.

My Mum has taken to buying six packs of the orange one of that.
Very nice it is too.
Not too sweet or fizzy, slightly bitter from the orange oil extracts.
Probably the most grown up of fizzy pops.

It's Timmy and The Margarets...
I have a feeling the real one would also have been beside herself with excited appreciation, and comfortable with second billing.

I have held my tongue on Hong Kong here, due it being very definitely political. However, it holds a special place in my heart and those of my family, and I'm horrified to see Hong Kongers treated in this way. I do believe a formal offer of full British nationality and residence in this country should be made to all Hong Kong residents who were resident in 1997, or have subsequently been born to those of that status. I thought so a quarter of a century ago.
I've chosen to say this in my own thread of joyous things because it would simply be joyous, isn't political or debating one stance v another, and would bring in several million highly skilled and cosmopolitan people who could boost the economies and cultural life of our forlorn cities at a time when they're in a sadder state than ever. A massive and unique shot in the arm is required - and we have a moral responsibility to Hong Kong. It's serendipitous. Such opportunities rarely dovetail with crises.
Get the construction teams and planners out (as soon as it's safe - recruit globally for sufficient numbers - Kurds, Syrians, Brazilians, Africans, Yemenis, Venezuelans - and give citizenship to them too when the housing is built) in Liverpool, Manchester, Scotland, Bristol, Cardiff, Cambridge, Reading/South Oxfordshire, London - each with a proven willingness to live in progressive open environments and don't deserve to go down the sh*tter any further. Some key voices agree.

I wish all the countryside looked like this...
Farmers should be forced, by law, to make the edges of their holdings visually attractive.

A precious old lady, and a very special 101st birthday. I smiled all through this short but wonderful YouTube recommendation.

Is it a black man who was almost definitely suspected to have been in the same jurisdiction as a chewing gum theft?
