It is a very cheerful album for a balmy Spring early evening.

A lot of them are 'skits'.

There's a running narrative wherein a bunch of weedy, creepy street thugs steal a tape of the album off a kid and then proceed to diss the album periodically throughout.

If you know about the band's early history and hip-hop in general then you'd probably find it quite funny.

And informative.

De La Soul are one of the smartest, most self-aware and self-deprecating, yet combative groups across the entire genre.

There're also lots of bits where the band is, admittedly quite amusingly, cracking wise and goofing about at the beginning and end of the songs.

It's all relevant to the song in question and is very common in Hip-Hop albums, but I just don't think you lot would be able to deal with it, let alone 'get it'.

It is 1 hour 5 minutes long however, but without all the malarky would probably be about 50 minutes.
