That was an album that was very well played and very well produced but was, ultimately, a glutinous bore. Only that piano single near the end held anything of any interest.

Now to look back at the thread and see what everyone else made of it.

I shall give it 2 stars.

I kinda like their style.

In truth, style is often all they have, but, of all the post-Bovvie slave-acts and pretenders to that empty, unwanted by the man himself throne, they're probably the best of the rabble.

I ultimately feel that they could've been a better band if they'd dropped the usual, conspicuous schtick.

Of course Wendi would have disliked it all the more, but, y'know, you don't make an light fluffy synthi-omelette without breaking some futuristic, angular eggs.

Bit of a mixed bag, the title track and the last track are great, I'd go g*y for Mick Karn bass playing Nightporter was alright, the near instrumental on side one was apparently a last minute substitution, and err.. sounds like it. Hmm… I'll give this a ★★★★
