Pure Closing Time.
That's not a bad thing BTW IMO.

Well, it could be The Heart Of Saturday Night as well.

Re: Dion - Yo Frankie (1989).
This album could have done with a couple of tracks in this vein.

Re: Dion - Yo Frankie (1989).
It is over.
I felt that was an entertaining album that only rarely mis-stepped. It struggled to live up to the standards of its outstanding opening track but, for a bloke who could be seen as a 1950s relic, he seemed in good form.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everyone else made of it.![Excited](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/4075307247.gif)

Re: Dion - Yo Frankie (1989).
Well, that's it done and dusted.
After the promise of the first track (genuinely enjoyable), I felt it fell away sharply in quality and ever downward into banality.
The last track was good however, but it's a sneaky trick to bookend an LP with the best tracks.
I'm not going to fall for that one.![no no](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/37101225.gif)

That was alright, good to see one of the old timers go toe to toe with the 80s trends and beat Springsteen/Dire Staits/Tom Petty et al. at their own game, and beat them with more energy and 50 doo-wop.
Boring music though.

I want to give it 3.5 stars but we don't have that option, so I'll give it 3.

That's what I was going for. So I'll give it 4 so the cosmic balance is restored. ![yes](/users/3715/63/33/29/smiles/959869116.gif)

Re: Dion - Yo Frankie (1989).
His vocal performance was the only thing of any merit ultimately.

I feel I should post the video for his Paul Simon team-up/Dire Straits channelling exercise, for no reason other than that I like it.
